2011

  • September: Hauled recycling for Bike Philly 2011 with 4000+ participating bikers
  • September: Collected recycling from Shale Gas Outrage natural gas demonstration of 1000+ people
  • July: Hauled water and snacks on the Urban Farm BIke Tour
  • July: Began composting at Plotland in West Philadelphia (44th & Locust)
  • June: Earned 501c3 tax exempt status!
  • May: Participated in a Growing Power Workshop Weekend in Milwaukee
  • April: Participant at the Germantown Friends Interfaith Green Fair
  • March: Began composting with Philly Food Foresters at Mercy Edible Park

2010

  • December: Covered by Philly Fox News, story 'Pedal Coop' Recycles by Bicycle
  • September: Hauled recycling for Bike Philly 2010
  • June: Participated in Best Fest in Clark Park
  • May: Moved and rebuilt our West Philadelphia compost site

2009

  • January: Provided Christmas tree removal service, chipped trees for mulch
  • April: Short video featuring the Pedal Coop wins the National Geographic Competition
  • Summer: Saul High School summer interns worked at our compost site all summer!

2008

  • Septmeber: First Residential Compost Client
  • September 7, 2008: Collected the compost and recycling for the GreenFest
  • Pedal Co-op was able to handle our first 20,000+ people event!
  • July 17, 2008: Incorprated as a nonprofit cooperative in the state of Pennsylvania
  • June 28, 2008: Collected the recycling for the Running for Cover event for the Melanoma Foundation
  • May: First Moving Job, Pedal Coop moved Four World Bakery to the new location at 44th and Chestnut
  • March: Received our first community development grant from Phillycarshare
  • January 2008: First compost collection began from Metropalitan Bakery in University City

2007

  • September: Started to collect recycling from our first client, Fiume Bar, in West Philly
